BFA Files a Class Action Lawsuit Against Google

Lesley Weaver and BFA, together with co-counsel David Straite of Kaplan Fox and Jay Barnes of Simmons Hanley Conroy, have filed a nationwide data privacy class action against Google for violating Chrome’s clear promise that the “personal information that Chrome stores won’t be sent to Google unless you choose to store that data in your Google Account by turning on sync[.]” Despite these promises, Chrome records and sends users’ personal information to Google regardless of whether a user elects to sync their personal information - or even has a Google account.  This personal information can include activity revealing your financial, health or other information you intend to keep from Google by choosing not to sync accounts.
