BFA Announces Investigation of Capital One Data Breach Affecting 100 Million Individuals
Bleichmar Fonti & Auld LLP is investigating Capital One Financial Corporation following Capital One's announcement of a data security breach affecting more than 100 million individuals and small businesses in the United States and Canada who applied for credit card products with the Company between 2005 and early 2019. The security breach includes credit card applications, names, addresses, credit scores, payment history, Social Security Numbers (U.S.) and Social Insurance Numbers (Canada), bank account numbers, partial transaction history, and other personally identifying information. The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a criminal complaint against an individual alleged to be responsible for the unauthorized taking of the information. This investigation is ongoing.
