Background: The Bank of America Unauthorized Account Opening action consolidates a series of cases brought on behalf of consumers alleging that Bank of America engaged in the practice of unauthorized opening of accounts for its customers without their consent or knowledge, resulting in damages that included, among others, improper fee charges, negative credit consequences, and loss of control over protected personal information.
